Moderne – Holy Grail of Vintage Guitars
The Moderne is an electric guitar designed by Gibson in 1957 alongside the Flying V and Explorer as part of a stylistically advanced line. Sources claim that Gibson made a handful of prototypes, but an original has yet to surface. The Moderne was eventually put into production in 1982. Because of their very limited production and forward design, Modernes are highly sought by collectors. NM condition, approximately 8 x 10 inches, 104 pages, 30+ songs This is a music book for 12-16 chord portable organs, and includes songs by George Harrison, The Who, CCR, Chicago, Grand Funk, Santana, etc. The theme of the book is « Great Music Festivals » and it includes an 8-page article by Ralph J. Gleason about music festivals, and several pages of photos from famous festivals. This book is « new old stock » from a warehouse find, and has been in storage for 30 years. 1929 « STREET GIRL » MOVIE SHEET MUSIC STORE ADVERTISING POSTER « LOVABLE & SWEET »
Here’s something you rarely find ~ an ORIGINAL 1920s/1930s MUSIC STORE ADVERTISING POSTER for a piece of vintage sheet music. The poster is the same size as the sheet music but the reverse side is blank. It was sent out by publishers to retailers to display to promote sales of the song, and this one was found in the backroom files of a long-defunct music store in Pennsylvania. Offered here is the advertising poster for the sheet music for « LOVABLE AND SWEET » from the 1929 film « STREET GIRL ». It is in excellent condition, with bright unfaded color and sharp edges. I don’t think it was ever displayed by the music store. See photo for a closer look. To repeat – there’s no printed music; it’s just the front cover image with a blank back.
