Six Airs Varies for Violin & Piano, Op. 118 Carl Fischer Music Library #L126 By Charles DanclaCarl Fischer, 1912, Violin part – 19 pages, Piano part – 39 pages Condition as shown in photos. Cover and pages of each part very slightly worn. Violin part has a few light pencil marks. Charles Dancla (1817-1907) was a French violinist and composer. Six Airs Variés (Op. 118) is the second series of his two Airs Variés, composed for the violin with piano accompaniment. From Wikipedia: Dancla went to the Paris Conservatory and studied with Baillot for violin and Fromental Halévy for composition. He was strongly influenced by Niccolò Paganini, whom he heard in 1830, as well as by Henri Vieuxtemps. From 1835 onward Dancla was solo violinist in the Paris Opéra, and shortly thereafter he became concert master. In 1857 he was made a professor at the Paris Conservatory where he was a successful teacher for over 35 years. His two brothers were Arnaud Dancla (1819–1862), cellist and author of a considerable cello teaching method, and Leopold Dancla (1822–1895), violinist and composer of chamber music. All from a neat estate, take your time and look through the selection. We are starting out with this bunch and we have a few more that we will list in a different listing. Most of these are in good condition and in the original boxes. The boxes are nice and not messed up, a couple may have a small torn place and the labels show some age spots. The rolls inside are in very good condition with only a few having a tiny rip that can be easily repaired. Email if you have questions or need a photo of some of these that you would like. The select key reads « Last One » beside it, that is because there is only one of each of these. Lots of interesting titles for you. Email with questions, or if you need more photos. I will combine shipping. If you purchase more than one, wait for my invoice to give you the shipping discount total. If you buy more than one you get a discount for the others you purchase and you get more for your shipping money too.
