Specifically designed as an instructional/method series, it is also a song/sheet music collection for learning to play the Slovenian style diatonic button box accordion (Steirische Harmonika). Most informative and helpful to both the beginning student and experienced button box players. It contains detailed information about the Slovenian style button box accordion including sections on tunings, extensive keyboard layout diagram configurations for key/note location/position, reading sheet music, playing style and technique, etc. It also contains several songs. All songs are written in both standard sheet music notation and Al Jevsevar's keyboard stamp diagram, so it can be used by novice and experienced players alike. You don't have to already know how to read sheet music to learn the songs. Anyone can easily learn, follow, and comprehend the notation. Although the standard sheet music notation for the songs are written in the keys of F & Bb, you do not need to have a button box in those specific keys to use the book. The Jevsevar keyboard stamp allows you to learn to play the songs regardless of the key combination of your button box! The last several pages contain keyboard diagrams for 3 and 4 row diatonic button box treble and bass button note layouts/configuration for every possible key combination!
